The couple H. had been looking forward to it: a few relaxing days in Marrakech. Their experience report shows once again what can go wrong on a flight: Why the delay to Marrakech? Because Iberia "messed it up". "We were really looking forward to a wonderful time in the "Red City". We flew on 15.01.2024 with IB 3191 from Munich to Madrid. However, we and all the other passengers were stranded in Madrid and had to spend the night there instead of flying on to Marrakech.
Why did we miss our connecting flight?
We had obviously landed too late and were frustrated to see the plane to Morocco moving towards the runway in front of us. Together with a large crowd of people, we made our way to the Iberia counter, where three employees were on duty until 17:00 and then sent us to a counter in front of customs. Here, two employees were responsible for more than 100 guests who wanted to go to Marrakech and were totally overwhelmed.
How did the airline react?
At least they organized a hotel room for us near the airport, with a shuttle service, dinner including a bottle of water and breakfast the following day. However, there was no mention of a claim for compensation due to the flight delay.
The days in Marrakech were all the better and Captain Frank is taking care of our compensation. As soon as the money is in our account, we'll fly back to this wonderful city. That's for sure!"
