Entitlement to financial compensation

The financial compensation is regulated exactly according to the EU air passenger rights regulation. It depends on the length of the flight, but in the case of long-haul flights also on the amount of delay.

Short haul (up to 1500 kilometres)
From a delay of 3 hours the compensation amount is 250 €.

Medium distance (up to 3500 km):
From a delay of 3 hours the compensation amount is 400 €.

Long distance (over 3500 kilometres):
If the delay is between 3 and 4 hours, the amount of compensation is 300 €.
For a delay of 4 hours or more, the amount of compensation is €600.

Entitlement to care at the airport

The EU Air Passenger Rights Ordinance has defined precisely the services that airlines must provide in the event of flight delays. In addition to financial compensation, they also include the right to care at the airport during the waiting period. Depending on the route, this is the case:

Short-haul flights (up to 1500 kilometres):
From a waiting time of 2 hours or in the event of cancellation, the passenger is entitled to free drinks, snacks, e-mails, faxes and two telephone calls.

Medium distance (up to 3500 kilometres):
From a waiting period of 3 hours or a cancellation, the passenger is entitled to free drinks, meals and two telephone calls, e-mails or faxes.

Long distance (over 3500 kilometres):
For a flight 4 hours late or more or cancelled, the passenger is entitled to free drinks, meals and two telephone calls, e-mails or faxes.

For purchases on a successful basis we charge a handling fee of 20% plus VAT, for purchases made immediately we charge 30% plus VAT.
